Your lesson plan is well done. I really like the stations that you incorporated into your lesson. It helps students to engage in learning the concepts. I also like the idea of each group has limited questions to ask you.

  2. Ms. Sims,

Thank you for sharing your lesson. I will keep this for when I need to teach Matrices. My take-away from this lesson is your awesome idea for station work! I love the idea to have the students make a picture collage. My students would love this. Also I like the "question coupon" idea! When you limit the number of questions the group can ask, it forces the students to work collaboratively. I have a difficult time getting students to work together. So, I am definitely going to try this strategy. Kudos!

  3. Ms. Goggins,
Thank you for sharing your Sketchpad Lesson. I enjoyed the “hook” video!! I know my kids would enjoy seeing it. It was great to see a technology lesson and the student work. The worksheet was self-guiding and gave the students an opportunity to “learn while doing” instead of just learning the rules. This experience will last them a much longer time. I appreciate your reflection responses and how candid you were about misconceptions that can occur. You’ve given me motivation to incorporate more technology in my classroom. We are scheduled to get devices for all students next year!

  4. Goggins,

I like the way you integrated technology. To make the moves come to life. Also your lesson plan was very detailed enough for someone else to follow which is great. This lesson also has shown me how to connect this to my lesson of matrices and also use geosketchpad.
